Boom is a music player app that takes your locally stored music and transforms your tracks into what the app calls “3D Surround Sound.” In short, it makes your iPhone’s music sound so good you don’t need to be an audiophile to appreciate the effect. Create playlists and use the app’s intensity slider to control the “surround sound” effects for each song.

Pro-tip:Head into the app’s settings to customize your headphones setup (in-ear, over ear etc.) and use the effects menu to customize the EQ settings.

If you have ever played with a Bop-It, Spinny Phone will make you nostalgic for what was likely the bossiest toy of your childhood. Follow the app’s directions by turning your phone left or right, tapping the screen, or shaking it to rack up points and get a new high score. The app makes clever use of the iPhone’s sensors, which is how the app is able to detect you movements.
